Christmas tree in flames
by Dominika Nagyova

Fallbrook firefighters put out the fire on Gird Road on Monday. The damage was probably caused by a Christmas tree, which was situated too close to a fireplace. The fire was only in one part of house. Other ones are quite in good condition; there was just a smoke from the blaze. Fortunately, John Buchanan of the North County Fire Protection District said, that no one was hurt. On the other side, the damage is estimated to $50,000. The tips how to keep your house from the fire are following: Choose artificial tree tested and labeled as fire resistant. Artificial trees with built-in electrical systems should have the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) label. Use only indoor lights indoors and outdoor lights only outdoors Switch off all lights when you go to bed or leave the house. Enjoy the Christmas-day warmth, not the Christmas tree fire.

Security during Christmas
by Ludmila Martinicka

You know it very well. You want to win the best Christmas decoration competition this year. You can't stand the Mrs. X from the next door always winning. It must be you. You bought the newest set of lights available on the market. It is colorful, flashing in five modes. Did you assure yourself it is used for outside decoration? Yes, the security don't come to our minds during Christmas. We think about the food, gifts, Christmas tree,... lot of things. May be this is also a reason, why so many accidents happen on Christmas day. People are tired from the preparation, happy to reach the Christmas Eve happily and forget to take care of electric stuff. Lights on the tree, around the window, outside on the balcony, maybe also on your roof. Please, be careful about this and don't hazard with electricity. Check the wire before installing it. Frayed or exposed wire can cause an electrocusion or a fire. It is good to look into instruction of the producer. Some wires are specialized for outdoor decoration, some can be used only inside. Check the cable and the bulbs, change the blow ones. Electricity is not the only danger. Do your best not to annoy your relatives. If you do, you risk flying gifts, Christmas tree or ... whatever. It could be dangerous and put you in a real trouble. Best driving mad methods are... you know best, so avoid them. For the Christmas spirit, for your health and security and for the peace of your neighbors. Enjoy the Christmas time!

The system for recognition of terrorists works
by Ludmila Martinicka

That proved on his own skin the high official in charge of fighting racial profiling for the American Civil Liberties Union, Downing. On the way to the meeting on racial profiling he was stopped in the year 2003 after arriving on the airport in Boston, one of the 20 busiest airports in the United States. Over 27 million of passengers per year goes through here. This Boston airport, called Logan airport, was the first to use the "Behavior Assessment Screening System". The system was launched in 2002. It allows police to watch passengers and find out whose behavior seems to be suspicious. U.S. government agency responsible for the transportation security in the country came with the similar system at more than 40 national largest airports. Transport Security Administration (TSA) was signed in the law by George Bush on November 19th 2001 as the reaction on terrorist attack from November 11th same year. Since March 2003 the TSA agency works under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. King Downing consider the police check unreasonable, but on the other side, it proves that the anti-terrorist system works. And this mean that flights became more safe. After September 11. in 2001 it is a good news, I guess. The trend says flights are more safe and passengers don't need to be afraid of becoming victims of any other terrorist attacks. And I hope that passengers don't need to be afraid of being stopped by police due to their color of skin. However it was in the case of King Downing.

“The whole nine yards”
by Ludmila Martinicka

Thousands of dollars were stolen from unsuspecting neighbors and other fraud victims. How long did they think to be free to threaten innocent people for their trips to Hawaii, for kisses under the Eiffel tower and $3000-a-month apartment? Police gave an answer. Not anymore. After notification of resident on their floor police started the investigation and caught a couple of two young lovers. They were rich and in love. They had supportive families and private schools. What did they miss to have in life? Excitement? Or maybe just taught hands of parents when they were children. In the apartment police found four computers, two printers, a scanner and a machine used in industry to make ID cards. On the top of the tech toys, police was surprised by amount of cash money, credit cards, fake driving licenses. More than all the things stated above amazed them different finding on examination. Police still don't know how the couple gained it, but the fact is, that they had keys to unlock many of the apartments and mailboxes in the Rittenhouse building, where they lived. So, the investigation is still not at its end and hopefully police won't find any other surprises. Estimation of last year treasury achieved by the couple is higher than $100 000. There is assumption to find even more victims, so the final number can increase. News about this unusual case came from Philadelphia. May be you live far away from this place. But... you never know, who your neighbor could be. Mathew Perry as a dentist from The Whole Nine Yards could have something to add.
